It is the second icon of the Alignment keys, and it looks like four horizontal lines aligned in the middle. Then right-click the selected text and choose Table Properties Switch to Cell tab and choose Center in Vertical alignment. I suppose you could arrange a one-cell table inside a frame-that might even be the best way to manage it with a text frame. To align text along the center of your PowerPoint Presentation, select your preferred text and hit the Align Centre option from the Paragraph section of the Home tab. If you want to center the text in Word tables both horizontally and vertically, you should select all the text at first as well. Tables do provide alignment top/bottom the issue there is that you can't position a table freely anywhere on the page. If the text frame is mostly separate from the document, then take the easy way and use a graphics text box (View > Toolbars > Drawing: ON "T" text box button).Īnother option: use a one-cell table. Which you use sort of depends on the situation: if you need the text in the frame to coordinate with the document text, then the standard text frame is better and you have to do some extra work to get the alignment. As I said, you can use a graphics text box and choose whatever alignment you want, but the standard text boxes have no alignment options between the top and bottom borders, only left/right. Unfortunately, it can't be done easily with Writer's text frames. What I want to do is align it either top center or bottom between the top and bottom borders of the frame.
